This isn’t a personal failing. Insurance billing is a common challenge for therapists because behavioral health payer rules are complex and often inconsistent. But we’ve seen how even minor issues can create unwelcome ripple effects.
We’re sisters working in the mental health field. Allison Outlund is a Mental Health Billing Specialist with a background in banking operations and medical records management. Olivia Outlund is a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) who built her own private practice.
As Olivia’s caseload grew, so did administrative demands. To prevent payment delays and income inconsistency, Olivia hired billing support. Allison ensured Olivia’s income continued to flow steadily, and with more time for client appointments, Olivia generated the revenue required to offset billing costs.
We believe billing should support your well-being, not drain your energy and distract from client care. We founded SteadyStream Billing to provide accurate biweekly insurance billing for busy therapists seeking a steady income they can rely on.

Co-Founder & Licensed Independent Social Worker
Olivia is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker who brings real-world clinical insight to the foundation of our billing approach.
She earned her Master’s in Social Work from the University of Iowa and has experience supporting individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, and interpersonal challenges.
As the founder of her own private practice, Olivia understands the demands of balancing client care with operating a profitable business.
Olivia’s perspective ensures that our billing processes are designed with therapists in mind and aligned with the flow of real clinical work, respectful of ethical standards, and supportive of sustainable, client-centered practices.
Allison Outlund
Co-Founder & Mental Health Biller
With a professional background spanning banking operations, medical billing records, and client services, Allison has spent over 15 years working in highly regulated environments demanding accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance.
Allison completed the AMBA Mental Health Billing course and the AAPC Billing and Collection course and now specializes in supporting mental health professionals with accurate, compliant billing. Allison handles the majority of the billing for clients.
She brings hands-on experience managing behavioral health insurance billing, including claims submission, denial resolution, and HIPAA compliance.
Her background and training details are available for verification through her LinkedIn profile or attached resume, reflecting her commitment to industry best practices. She earned her bachelor’s degree in English and a minor in psychology from the University of Iowa.
